Leaving, don’t know how

I found out this morning that I have to move out by 27th June. I knew it was coming, but it presents problems.

I have 2 months to find somewhere new to live. That I can probably manage. What will be difficult is financing the move. I’m behind in my rent presently by about two weeks. When I leave I’ll have made that up, and have about two weeks worth of rent in my pocket. I’ll get my bond back – $2,500. Let’s be generous and say I have $3,500 in total then, though realistically it will be less given I’m behind also on electricity and gas (not to mention car – but that can wait).

Moving into a new home means first months rent plus a month’s bond up front. That’ll be somewhere between $3,500 – $4,300 I’ll have to cough up on day one. And none of that factors in moving costs.

I have about 6 weeks to come up with a solution. Already on it.
