High rotation

I don’t often make the point of singling out pieces of music, but I feel like making an exception. Everytime I hear Someone That I Used to Know by Gotye (with Kimbra) I find myself stopping whatever I’m doing to listen to the words, the soaring vocals, the sad and somewhat bitter lament which is rebutted as the girl – Kimbra – joins the song, putting him back in his place. In the end it’s just another song about misunderstandings and sad endings, but more intelligent, more melodic, than most. This is definitely one of my favourite songs this year. And it’s a great film clip. Do yourself a favour…
